01: NAIROBI
Met upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport with our
unique & special welcome (cold towels, champagne and presentation
of authentic safari hat to every guest).
Transfer to your city hotel for the overnight. You will have the
morning to relax and in the afternoon an opportunity to visit
The National Museum often touted as the birthplace of humanity
and a great place to start exploring the Kenyans' cultural riches.
Tonight you will dine at the famous Carnivore Restaurant enjoying
a wide variety of barbequed meats carved at your table. Meals:

02: NAIROBI/AMBOSELI
After breakfast depart for Amboseli National Park nestled on the
slopes of Africa’s highest snow-capped mountain, Mt Kilimanjaro,
and arrive in time for lunch at the lodge.
Afternoon relax by the pool as you wait to commence your first
real experience of searching for the’big five’ in
this beautiful and very photogenic game park.

03 AMBOSELI
Full
day in the park with morning and afternoon game drives at one
of Kenya’s most visited parks, Amboseli boasts open plains,
acacia woodland, rocky thorn bush, swamps and marshes that are
fed by the melt waters of Kilimanjaro. All meals and overnight
at the lodge. Meals: F/B

04: AMBOSELI/ LAKE NAIVASHA
After breakfast depart for Lake Naivasha with our first stop
at the View Point to admire the breath-taking beauty of the
Great Rift Valley. Continue to arrive at Naivasha Sopa for lunch.
After lunch we'll proceed on a boat ride on the lake and disembark
on Crescent Island – a private sanctuary, for a walk-about
amongst Zebra, Wildebeest, Gazelle, Vervet Monkey, Genet and Giraffe.
Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

05: LAKE NAIVASHA/ MASAI MARA
Have breakfast and depart via Narok to Masai Mara National
Reserve offering wonderful scenery and plenty of game. It’s
perhaps the only region left in Kenya where you may see animals
in the same super abundance as existed a century ago. Mara is
home to the awesome black-manned lion, the elusive leopard, stately
giraffes, vast bulk of elephants, rhino, thundering herds of zebra,
migrating wildebeest and numerous other plains game.
Arrive at the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon proceed for
an exciting game viewing in this vast and expansive reserve teeming
with game. Return to the lodge for dinner.

DAY
06 MASAI MARA
Full day at the reserve with morning and afternoon game drives
in search of the ‘big five’. Masai Mara is at the
northern most extension of the Serengeti Plains and one of the
richest wildlife game reserves. Its home to the awesome black
–manned lion, the elusive leopard, stately giraffe, vast
bulk of elephants, rhino, thundering herds of zebra, migrating
wildebeest and numerous other plains game, thereafter return at
the lodge for dinner.

05: LAKE NAIVASHA/ MASAI MARA
Optional
Activity:
Balloon safari over Mara plains ending with a champagne breakfast,
or visit the traditional Masai Manyatta ( off the beaten track)
and experience the culture of this world famous community
Interact with these nomadic people who still live as they did
for centuries and experience their way of life as you learn about
their customs and traditions.

07: MASI MARA /KAKAMEGA
Rise early and enjoy a hearty breakfast before departing for Africa’s
largest freshwater lake, Lake Victoria. We will have lunch by
the shores of this magnanimous lake and, if we are lucky we might
see the Luo fishermen who are the local tribes people bring
in their days catch before heading to Kakamega Forest to rest
and overnight at the Rondo Retreat. Meals: F/B

08: KAKAMEGA
After breakfast depart for half-day nature walk with a visit to
the historic Liranda Hills and the 'Weeping Stone' (Ikhongo
Murwi) and discover the sacred values of this stone and the
surrounding shrines. This is a sacred place for the Luhya community
being the place where their forefathers used to offer sacrifices
and pray for rain and blessings. This site and lecture will enable
you to reflect on the African religious practices and at what
lengths the community went seeking for God within their values.
Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at Rondo Retreat

09: KAKAMEGA/ LAKE NAKURU
Afterwards proceed with your journey to Lake Nakuru National Park,
famous as the home of thousands of lesser and greater flamingo.
This park also provides sanctuary of Rothschild giraffe, black
and white rhino and the elusive leopard.
Arrive at the lodge for lunch thereafter, an afternoon game drive
to see millions of flamingos and a host of other bird life. Return
for dinner.

10: LAKE NAKURU/ MT KENYA REGION
After breakfast depart through a very scenic route towards Mt
Kenya stopping enroute at the magnificent Thompson’s Falls.
Arrive at Aberdare Country Club/Outspan hotel for lunch. Afternoon
transfer to The Ark/treetops perched 7000ft high in the Aberdare
Mountains. Settle in and enjoy views of snow-covered Mt. Kenya
as you await the procession of wild animals that come to the floodlit
waterhole. After dinner relax in the lounge by the fireplace or
enjoy the game-viewing. Meals: F/B

11: MT KENYA REGION
After Breakfast depart for Dr. Githae's African Traditional Clinic
in Nyeri town. This is quite an educational experience as you
will see how the traditional medicines have been revolutionalised
for day to day use by the local people. Join Dr. Githae in a short
tour to the sacred forest (Mount Kenya Forest) where he collects
his natural medicinal herbs. The Kikuyu people used to pray facing
this mountain (the second highest mountain in Africa ) and they
consider it and the environs a sacred place. It is from this forest,
which is undisturbed, and at peace with nature that Dr. Githae
comes to collect herbs for his traditional medicines. Participate
in this exercise and listen in utter disbelieve as you get mesmerized
by this exceptionally talented person who is now a renowned traditional
herbalist and healer in Africa as he pours a lecture to you on
the medicinal values of each of the species collected and how
he transforms it to traditional medicine. Thereafter proceed to
Nanyuki enroute to Sweetwaters Tented Camp with a brief stop at
the Equator where you may do a simple water test to ascertain
the magnetic effect on the northern & southern sphere. Continue
to arrive in time for lunch. After lunch proceed for the afternoon
game drive with a visit to the Chimpanzee sanctuary (the only
chimp sanctuary in Kenya ) taking a short boat ride along Ewaso
Nyiro River to see these magnificent creatures. Thereafter proceed
with the game drive in search of the 'big five' including rare
black rhinos, lions, elephants, giraffes and others. Return for
dinner and overnight – Sweetwater Tented Camp where you
will enjoy the experience of “sleeping under canvas”.

12: MT KENYA REGION/ SAMBURU
Drive North past Mt Kenya to Shaba Game Reserve. Rugged and remote,
this wildlife reserve provides some the best and most colourful
game viewing in the country. Arrive in time for lunch at the lodge
located at the banks of Ewaso Nyiro River. Later in the afternoon
proceed for an exciting game-viewing in search of game found
only north of the equator that include the long necked gerenuk,
grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, beisa Oryx and the Somali
ostrich. Meals: F/B

13 – 14 SAMBURU
After an early breakfast cross over to the nearby Samburu and
Buffalo Springs Game Reserve for a full morning's exciting game-viewing
drive in search of the 'big five', other wildlife and a large
number of bird species. The Ewaso Nyiro River dotted with doum
palms meanders through the reserve giving it an oasis setting.
You may opt to visit the Samburu villages to experience their
way of life. Pass by a local school where we will mingle with
the children and offer gifts of pens, clothes and other items
that is well received and appreciated. The children may even sing
for us! Return to the lodge for lunch. Enjoy afternoon game drive.

15 SAMBURU/ NAIROBI
After a great safari, a rewarding cultural experience & a
wonderfully relaxed three days in the African Semi-Desert sadly
you must say depart for Nairobi, arrive for lunch and day room
up to 6 Afterwards depart for a farewell dinner at the famous
barbecue and later transfer to the airport for the onward flight
back home.
